Design Narrative

Rooted in its environment and reimagined as the true living room of the town, the Inn at Celebration welcomes visitors to experience the locale’s rhythm in a way that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. Set against the shimmering Lake Rianhard and framed by the Everglades, the design connects directly to Florida’s signature nature. Warm, natural materials and a palette pulled straight from the landscape help blur the line between inside and out, making the hotel feel like it’s always been part of its surroundings. Every detail is precise yet inviting, offering continuity and calm without sacrificing character. At the heart of it all, the lobby’s library wall embodies the spirit of community—inviting guests to browse, borrow, or leave behind stories of their own.

In keeping with this deep connection to place, the renovation embraces sustainability through thoughtful reuse and adaptive design. Many of the existing case goods were retained and refreshed, reducing waste while preserving the character of the original building. The former meeting room was transformed into the new restaurant, allowing the project to repurpose the space rather than rebuild, and the lobby bar was revitalized in place to maintain its foundational elements. The design team also prioritized the use of wall paint over wallcoverings wherever possible, minimizing material consumption while keeping the interiors light, fresh, and timeless. One of the project’s most meaningful gestures was the salvaging and restoration of the beloved communal table originally located in the lobby—an anchor for both guests and staff. Now reintroduced as the centerpiece of the restaurant, it carries forward the property’s legacy while supporting a more sustainable approach. Even guest spaces contributed to this mindful effort: two existing rooms were reimagined as a bright, view-filled fitness and wellness center, aligning guest well-being with environmentally conscious design decisions.
