Design Narrative
The design concept centers on creating an environment where the vibrancy of Latin-inspired culture blends seamlessly with the laid-back spirit of Caribbean life—an atmosphere that transforms the workplace into a celebration of color, warmth, and natural serenity. Serving as the Latin American Hub for North America, the office reflects a dynamic convergence of cultures and regional identity, all while upholding Hyatt’s timeless sense of elegance. The space embraces an open, relaxed, and perpetually sunny character, where soft coastal hues and organic textures coexist with bold Latin American influences. The result is a setting that feels both energizing and restorative, cultivating comfort, creativity, and a meaningful sense of place for employees and visitors alike.
Sustainability is a core value woven throughout the project. The team implemented a carpet demolition recycling initiative along with a comprehensive construction and demolition waste program, ensuring materials such as metal, wood, glass, plastics, ceiling tiles, and insulation were responsibly separated and diverted from landfill whenever possible. These strategies reflect a commitment to long-term environmental stewardship and reduced ecological impact.
Wellness principles guided both the spatial planning and material selections. The design maximizes access to daylight, supporting mental well-being and creating an uplifting atmosphere throughout the workplace. Open and flexible work zones encourage ergonomic movement and offer a variety of seating choices to promote maximum comfort. A dedicated mothers/wellness room provides a supportive, private retreat for nursing parents or those needing a quiet reprieve. Acoustic strategies—including isolation from surrounding traffic—further ensure that calm, focused zones remain protected from outside noise.
FF&E selections were intentionally curated to reinforce the design story through sustainability and cultural expression. Artwork and accessories were sourced locally to support Miami small businesses or selected for their Latin American and Caribbean influence, adding authenticity and regional character. A custom area rug, designed as an abstract map of the Caribbean and Latin America, serves as a symbolic centerpiece—visually tying the space to its identity as the North American hub for the region. Furnishings were chosen for their environmental responsibility and their ability to introduce soft, sun-washed pops of color reminiscent of tropical landscapes. Together, these elements create a warm, inviting workplace that celebrates cultural diversity while delivering a sophisticated and sustainable experience.
